The interview with the third participant of the Public dialogue on the academic education for journalists, the Večernji list editor-in-chief Dražen Klarić, was held in mid-July through a conference call platform and conducted by the leader of the HEJDE Project Tijana Vukić, while the text was published in mid-August by the partner e-publication H-Alter.

This is a project financed by the Agency for Electronic Media, and it is an activity part of the international scientific institutional project Higher Education for Journalists in a Digital Environment (HEJDE).

Klarić’s key stance lies in the idea that a journalist has to act from a humane position in professional circumstances, while the development of study programmes which educate journalists should be directed toward a stronger connection of newsrooms with the academy, ensure a wider general knowledge in the study programme contents, and at the same time develop special students’ interests through elective courses.
