Journalist and full professor Tena...

In September's issue of the Public Dialogue on the Academic Education of Journalists, assistant professor Tijana Vukić, PhD hosted the experienced long-time journalist and full professor at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Zagreb - Tena Perišin. The interview was published on October 6 in collaboration with the e-publication H-Alter.

Perišin responds to the numerous challenges facing the system for the education of journalists in Croatia with concrete proposals. She sees one faculty with numerous study programs in communication sciences more adequate than the situation we have today - many study programs that educate journalists and media workers scattered throughout Croatia; thoughtful job systematization in the media organizations would contribute to the positioning of bachelors because the system still does not recognize them; the standardization of various media professions, insisting on the employment of professionals in the field of journalism and preventing the outflow of quality journalists in public relations would help to position the profession, but also to sustain the academic system for the education of journalists in Croatia.

This is just an excerpt from the conversation that you can read in its entirety here.
