AEM accepts narrative report on the...

On its 4th session held at 20th of January 2022, the Council for the Electronic Media of the Croatian Agency for the Electronic Media has delivered a decision to fully accept the evaluation of the narrative report of the journalistic project Public Dialogue on Academic Education of Journalists by the author Tijana Vukić, PhD, HEJDE project leader. Namely, the evaluation committee determined that all obligations are successfully fulfilled based on the process of analysing narrative report and checking its accuracy. The narative report was submitted on 11th January 2022 since it was to be sent within one month after project finalization.  

The project lasted nine months, from April to December 2021, during which in cooperation with the Croatian electronic publication H-Alter, the series of 10 texts in Croatan language were published as planned.

During that period, Tijana Vukić conducted nine in-depth interviews with the selected interlocutors, a number of important actors in the Croatian academic, media and governmental institutions such as experts, government representatives and university professors who spoke directly to the public for the first time about numerous problems and challenges associated to the higher education of journalists in Croatia and in general.

The specificity of those texts was the innovative approach to crucial aspects directly connected to the main topic from within different perspectives of the - the academic, editorial, government, journalism, professorship, publishing, opposition professions, postgraduate, student, etc. Preparations for the interview were preceded by scientific research work.

Conclusively, the main aim of the project Public Dialogue on the Academic Education of Journalists associated with the HEJDE project has been accomplished. Namely, it initiated a public discussion of that complex and important topic by linking science and journalism as well as significant contemporary, but neglected, educational topic has been popularized in the Croatian independent electronic media.
