In collaboration with Brown University, Joukowsky Institute for Archaeology and the Ancient World (USA), the research of the Roman olive oil factory in Barbariga has continued.
On May 12, 2025, professors and students from the Juraj Dobrila University of Pula and the Joukowsky Institute for Archaeology and the Ancient World, Brown University, launched the second research campaign of the Roman olive oil factory in Barbariga — this year with a somewhat larger team. The project also includes experts from the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (Spain), Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw (Poland), the Institute of Archaeology in Zagreb, the University of Tübingen (Germany), and Historic Environment Scotland in Edinburgh (Scotland). This year’s research campaign will continue until May 31, 2025.
