Biography

Iva Milovan Delić was born in Pula in 1977. She studied History and Croatian Language and Literature at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Pula, and in 2001 defended her diploma thesis from the field of Ancient History. During her last year of studies she worked in a Pula City Library. From 2001 untill 2005 she worked as a teacher of history in several Istrian high schools. In September 2006 she became a teaching assistant at the Department of Humanities, Subdepartment of History, Juraj Dobrila University of Pula. In February 2013 she defended her doctoral dissertation (Spanish Flu 1918/1919 in the City of Pula – Social Aspects of the Spanish-Flu Mortality and Urban Anatomy of Pandemic) at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb thus finishing Doctoral studies of modern and contemporary Croatian history in the European and global context. From June 2017 she holds the position of assistant professor and teaches the courses Introduction into contemporary history, Totalitarian systems of the 20th century and United States of America in the Cold war on undergraduate studies of history, and History of diseases in 19th and 20th century Europe and History of prejudice and discrimination from the beginning of the 20th century until today on graduate studies of history. She published several professional and scholarly papers and participated in conferences at home and abroad.
