The research carried out at the Department of Archaeology falls primarily within Prehistory, Antiquity, Geoarchaeology, Landscape and Environmental Archaeology.
Until 2018, when the first study programme in archaeology and the Department were established, the academic staff of the Department conducted their research activities within the Department of History and from 2015 onwards within the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Landscape Archaeology.
