Predavanja su obavezna za studente kolegija Uvod u japansku gramatiku ali je izvrsna prilika i za sve druge studente koji su dobrodošli naučiti nešto više o navedenim japanološkim temama. Predavanja će biti na engleskom jeziku.

 

O gostujućoj profesorici:

 

Halina Zawiszová, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in Japanese language and linguistics at the Department of Asian Studies at Palacký University Olomouc, the Czech Republic. Her main research focuses on topics related to Japanese social interaction, language and emotion (or affective stance display), and the construction of social relations and identities. 

 

O predavanjima:

 

(1) The Sounds of Japanese (1) 

In this class, we will explore the speech sounds of modern Japanese language. We will learn how and when to produce different speech sounds, how to describe them as well as how to transcribe them using the IPA symbols. We will also notice the emergence of certain new consonant contrasts in newer loanwords.

 

(2) The Sounds of Japanese (2)

The focus of this class will be selected topics in Japanese phonology. We will discuss two key phonological rules that apply in standard Japanese, the so-called sequential voicing phenomenon, syllables and moras, and the accent in Tokyo Japanese.

 

(3) How Japanese Speakers Use Verbal Resources to Convey Their Feelings and Emotions in Social Interaction

In this seminar, we will use excerpts from actual everyday face-to-face, telephone, and written online conversational interactions in order to explore how Japanese speakers use certain verbal resources (together with other resources) to express and make interpretable their affective stances, i.e., their emotions, feelings, moods, and attitudes. We will focus on forms and formats that are used differently from what is typically taught in Japanese language courses. 

 

(4) The Workings of Interactional Particles in Japanese Conversational Interactions

In Japanese, the utterance-final position represents the key locus for the expression of elements that serve the main purpose of co-constructing the displays of speakers’ stances. In this class, we will consider the workings of several utterance-final elements that we will call interactional particles. Our examples will include both some central members of the category (traditionally referred to as sentence-final particles) and forms that appear to be in different stages of the process of developing into utterance-final elements.
